Maca is…
… an extraordinary food. Maca roots usually grow at an altitude of around 4000m in the Andes of Peru, despite the extreme climatic conditions of the region. Compared to most other plants, the Maca root contains a remarkably large number of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, complex carbohydrates as well as secondary plant compounds. For this reason, the root has been cultivated for about 2000 years and is part of the daily diet of the inhabitants of these regions.
For whom is Maca suitable?
Maca belongs to the group of “adaptogenic” plants. It is readily consumed by women and men around the age of 50, but also by any other age. Athletes consume Maca with great pleasure and many Peruvian mothers make sure to include it in their children’s diet. Also around pregnancy Maca is consumed with pleasure, please contact for this best your doctor or pharmacist. Maca is thus a food that is always welcome.
Which Maca is the best?
The quality differences of Maca roots between the different cultivation areas are very large. Therefore, only products based on Maca roots from Junin, Peru, which have been cultivated traditionally and pesticide-free by small farmers, are recommended. Maca products of high quality are made from the dark Maca roots (black and red-purple). In these, the typical properties of Maca are much more pronounced and therefore always preferable. The selection of the roots according to size and growth also represents an essential quality feature.

It is up to the manufacturer to make products of convincing quality possible through the choice of Maca roots and the manufacturing process. A simple Maca flour from industrial production, as it is usually offered on the market, convinces only a few people. Since 2002, MacaPro has stood for a highly convincing range of Maca products of the very best quality. MacaPro guarantees:

Concentrated products – why?
If you consider that people in the growing regions often consume 50-100g of Maca per day and compare that to the 1-5g recommended in western countries, it is not surprising that many people do not yet know the effects of Maca. So it makes a lot of sense to offer Maca products in concentrated form, so that even with small daily intakes you can feel the wonderful effects of Maca. Therefore, we use for our Maca powder 6kg roots for 1kg powder and both liquid extracts up to 20kg dried roots per 1l product.
